What do you like best?
I like the ability to easily add content to the system, create different catalogue pages for like content, and easily change module and course content without having to re-version the entire course.
The ability to create groups and edit course permissions so that we can create custom courseware for our customers has come in useful.
The CSM team is very helpful and attentive and I appreciate that about SkillJar. They also host weekly webinars that I find useful because they allow me to learn about best practices.
What do you dislike?
The UI of the system is not great. If you know how to code then this is an awesome platform as you can basically turn it into whatever you like. If you do not have that background the platform is very limited and clunky. It would be nice if the CSM team could create or provide basic pieces of code so that customers can make their environment look the way SkillJar academy does / how the product is advertised.
The admin UI is not intuitive and it takes several clicks to access content and materials. I have had to do quick screen shares for my co-workers in order to direct them to content that should be easily accessible. (Catalog pages, themes, user course completions etc.) It would be great if you had some kind of in-app cues that help admins navigate the backend the first few times they access the tool.
The reporting feature is extremely limited and makes it difficult to create reports and access data in a timely fashion.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Providing recorded content to our community so that they can learn about our product at the most convenient time for them. We have seen users accessing and completing content prior to requesting in-person meetings.
We realize the benefit of the LMS system and think that Skilljar could help us significantly, however, the time and resources required to make the system work for us is an ongoing challenge.
What do you like best?
Skilljar is easy to grasp the basics and get content published. It allows for customization in a lot of ways and lets you build out content quickly. It allows our team to be proactive in helping our customers learn new features and dive deeper into our product.
What do you dislike?
I would love to see Skilljar increase their customization tools and work to make customization easier and more intuitive for non-programmers.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We use Skilljar to help increase the capacity of our training and onboarding programs. Our Skilljar site allows our customers to dive deeper when they're ready without having to wait on a live trainer.
What do you like best?
Customization with Wordpress to remain on brand in the UI and interface. Easy to use reporting and bulk content creation. Easy to view all content available within the domain. Easy to manage multiple domains and publish content to both domains easily.
What do you dislike?
Difficult to use for an internal instance. Unable to add managers through SSO with certain admin views to grade and report without touching the content.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We are undergoing a massive hire post IPO and need to ramp up our new hires effectively within 90 days. The benefit is that we are able to track and easily provide non-gated content to all of the field facing organization.
What do you like best?
It's incredibly easy to get started in Skilljar. B/c they also have a content editor, it also means that you don't need an e-learning authoring tool as well.
What do you dislike?
Skilljar's UI is a bit clunky (but nothing that you don't get used to over time). I also wish that they had traditional learning paths as their current option lacks reporting and makes it difficult for users to go from course to course. Lastly, while simple, I wish their in-app design tools had more options/templates or layout themes to really personalize the experience.

We are able to streamline our customer education delivery within weeks of purchase and the impacts have been long-lasting
PROS & CONS
What are the best aspects of this product?
Skilljar is known for its user-friendly interface that makes learning in a non-classroom setting more enjoyable. We always look forward to creating courses that we can tailor fit to our students learning style and capabilities. In our line of work, the quality and quantity of the content that we create are a lot different from more prominent companies out there. What's great about Skilljar is it allows you to maximize your students' learning potential. You can create video presentations, online quizzes, and other essential materials to make sure that each training session is worth the time and effort of the trainer and its students.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
I am trying to make some changes to the interface of the application itself. But the process is tedious. It would be great if we can come up with a list of online templates to save time in creating learning modules. Some applications like WordPress are known for their colorful and unique templates, so I wish that they can do the same for Skilljar.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
Although several learning tools are readily available in the market nowadays, I can say that Skilljar is still the number one in terms of ranking. I love its features and flexibility, which makes each learning process more meaningful. A lot of users can quickly adapt to Skilljar, that means a lot to our company.
