What do you like best?
Template allowed you to mass email with no updates to body of message

It sends out our emails to all of our customers.
What do you dislike?
It has the worst customer service/support I've ever experienced. They offer almost no training with their tool and it's not intuitive or easy to learn on your own - extremely robust, but unable to take any advantage of the system because it's impossible to learn.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would make sure that you will be receiving support/training on using the tool prior to committing to the sofeware.

We are sending emails to all of our customers, but that's the only benefit.
What do you like best?
It technically works and there is a lot of power and flexibility, if that is what you are looking for.
What do you dislike?
If you do not have significant technical experience you will have a lot of trouble running basic campaigns in this tool. This means your other less technical users will experience constant difficulties and most likely dislike the tool. This negates pretty much all benefits of the tool. Salesforce support and onboarding is unknowledgeable and unhelpful. You are forced to PAY for support that is worse than your local cable company. Poorly integrated with Sales Cloud. No web visitor/device tracking and lead scoring. Worst analytics I have seen in any marketing automation tool. Contact manager in email studio looks like it hasn't been updated since 1997. Multiple poorly designed interfaces for every aspect of the software, mean you constantly switch around to accomplish basic tasks. Landing page builder does not support templates or page cloning. Using and supporting this tool makes my job harder and provides little to no benefit over other cheaper tools with similar functionality. Sold to us as a B2B tool but they do not support standard B2B use cases. Insane work arounds for basic things like sending an email from a salesperson/lead owner.

Typical marketing automation except everything is extremely complicated on purpose in order to create an entry barrier for new users. This forces your company to rely on so called "certified experts" that Salesforce will recommend and who will charge you $500/hour to send you poorly documented help articles from Salesforce's help portal.
Benefits? There are very few over any other marketing automation tool out there. You can combine transactional and promotional emails into one platform.
What do you like best?
Not much to like here... Lost $20k and did not succeed with even getting the software to work after 6 months. Almost ruined my business. Their Sales Staff is pretty friendly until they get you to sign the contract but then they disappear and that's about it.
What do you dislike?
Very difficult to set up! We tried to set it up on our own and failed, then had to pay $10,000 for a consultant - who also failed! So difficult to use and possibly impossible for a small business unless you have an unlimited budget. No help from Salesforce or Exact Target if you need it, even if you pay for Premier Support you are dealing with opening tickets with people in the Philippines who take their time to get back to you and in most occasions don't or can't even understand your questions. Went back to Hubspot, which is a much more intuitive tool, with 24/7 support.

Tried to solve our Email marketing problems, but unless you are an Advanced Salesforce Developer or have a ton of money to spend on one - you are not going to be able to do it with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Exact Target!
What do you like best?
Honestly, this email software was more clunky than Constant Contact. For being so famous, SalesForce has failed with their Email Studio.
What do you dislike?
The email templates were outdated, hard to customize & the fonts and spacing were limited. Building an email took a ridiculous amount of time. And, building and segmenting lists was manual. Plus, the customer service at SalesForce is AWFUL. I would not recommend Email Studio.

I strongly advise against purchasing SalesForce Email Studio. It is clunky & outdated.

We used this program to reach investors, current customers and leads. The only benefit was ending our contract with SalesForce and switching to another platform.
