What do you like best?

Convenient for connecting to remote host for troubleshooting when a full version of LogMeIn is not present on the host computer. It can be deployed to a remote via several different methods including direct download and email links. Low host system requirements. One very useful feature is the ability to move files to the remote computer. Using Rescue does allow you to save on full licensing by not having to maintain a license for computers that are not regularly remote accessed.

What do you dislike?

GUI is unintuitive. Desktop control can be very laggy. Find it useful only for installing a full version of LogMeIn on the host computer in order to use it for any further troubleshooting. Installation download can be confusing for some customers as they do not understand the difference with downloading and running the program. While useful, the file moving capability is usually very slow when compared with a proper LogMeIn install.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

User settings, printers, email issues, network issues. Pretty much anything IT support related that needs to be done on user systems. Users are spread nationally and this prevents the need for separate IT teams to be co-located. My main use of Rescue though it to install LogMeIn control panel onto the host computer so I can then use that to continue troubleshooting their issues. Have been able to reduce the number of LogMeIn licenses we maintain as we can use them in more of an "on-demand" manner with Rescue.

What do you like best?

I liked that it was easy to access for clients - we had a button on top of our software help page.

What do you dislike?

The pricing was really high for a small company like ours - it also was a pain to have to wait for the access code to give the client when we wanted to jump quickly on a call.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you have a large staff and large budget for client support than this is a great tool. Unfortunately, we decided to get off of it because of the price. We didn't really utilize all of the integrations that they offered, like FreshDesk, which may have made it more worth the cost.

We used it for our Customer Service team. It was a very valuable resource since its much simpler than using JoinMe Meetings and passing the presenter role. I liked that we were able to work on a clients desktop and share control of the screen.

If you're not worried about future innovation and just want something stable, it will serve you well. If you want improvements, you might want to look elsewhere.

We use LogMeIn Rescue for remote access in a helpdesk environment. It's a critical step in our process and has served us well for many years. I would consider it a standard-bearing software, but one that has perhaps gotten too comfortable with it's adoption.

What do you like best?

Logmein Rescue is easy to use and creating link for clients to use is easy. Transferring files is simple and intuitive, setting up access on client machines is pretty straight forward, and saving access to clients machines is simple and transparent.

What do you dislike?

On the two computers I mostly use LogMeIn Rescue if the software is left idle it freezes and I will have to use the task manager in order to close it and relaunch the software. Also if I am longed in and some else is logged into the same computer, the remote service will display some windows to me or them but not the other.

We are mostly solving issues with POS software and some other windows related issues.

What do you like best?

The software was capable of fast connections for quick resolution of user issues.

Users were always aware of who they were connecting with.

The chat feature was responsive and screenshots were easy to store.

What do you dislike?

Whether due to company policy or as a limitation of the software, my team and I had no admin access on user systems.

At some point, connection speed become much slower, leading to a nearly two minute delay between the user downloading the session tool and my ability to connect. As a result, we often had to use Skype as a workaround, Additionally, connections to Mac users often failed.

It's good when it works, but my experience was not completely positive

Being able to remote in, rather than try to guide a user over the phone is a useful tool as a help desk agent; as is the ability to easily take screenshots to document issues.
