What do you like best?

During the sales pitch they showed us nicely packaged demo and looks good on the outside but when you actually go for implementation you will relaize that most of the product features (OCR) is still immature and does not work at all as they promised. Application is very rigit and not flexible at all and if there are any company specific requirements, forget Coupa and looks for other alternatives

What do you dislike?

Does not support entire credit card transaction feed

Application is rigid and does not offer any flexibility.

They over promised when selling and under delivered

Customer support sucks and once you sign you are at their mercy

Do proper due deligence and validate every requirements during the demo

For credit card integrations they only map limited set of fields and their application is very rigid. They do not have any buffer columns if we need to map additional columns that are very key piece of information in your Business process

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our present system is very flexible and robust except for the user interface. Executive management whated a better user interface and mobile features. To satisfy this we have to make many more compromises and it is adding more work than we presently have on the AP department.

What do you like best?

We switched to this a year ago so that we could get away from our manual way of expensing. However this is one of the worst programs to help you with that.

What do you dislike?

It is not user friendly at all, in fact probably one of the most non-friendly systems you could use. Yes, now our processes are not manual, instead it takes 10 approvals and then you find out you didn’t check a checkbox correctly and have to start over. It’s a full time job for our finance team answering questions on this system. Would never purchase again.

Don’t bother, it’s more confusing than its worth

What do you like best?

The expense software as a whole is great for the user and controls. Easy to download your receipt, enter your data, and submit your report. Also gives accounting more control with the accounting review process. The app is also great added bonus.

What do you dislike?

Reporting, this was a key piece to why we liked this software. We found out the reason field which isn't a custom field is not reportable so we have to create a custom field so we can pull in this data. We also found out recently that the audit status as a defect. Even though we are selecting a category for each line, it shows up as blank on the line level report in the system on about 50% of our statements. The audit status is another questionable feature. Gives a lot of associates a bad rating even though they have all the the items populated and receipts attached when accounting audits their statements.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

We are a P-Card company so we have 675 cards for certain levels that the company pays for. We also have a mid-month cycle. Both of these became issues with our implementation. We had to wait for a fix in spring 2016 and then we had to set-up our own integration to make the system work for us.

With Coupa we have moved to a paperless system for expenses. We have also created more controls for accounting in order to audit and review statements for policy compliance.

Easy to use once it is set-up. Google map link for calculating mileage.

What do you dislike?

The mobile app has some deficiencies because of the need to wait for the credit card charge to be processed by the bank. This makes it difficult if not impossible to record expenses real time. Some utility should be added to match expenses that are recorded real time to credit card charges. It seems that this could be facilitated by code to match like amounts with the same transaction date or transactions dates close to each other.

Wait a bit longer for Coupa to work out a few more of the kinks.

Changing to company pay and combining credit cards used by purchasing and for other company purchases such as travel and entertainment on the same main credit card account.
