What do you like best?
The tool has a lot of functionality around social monitoring and ability to work with press/blog coverage data in the system, but unfortunately it could not capture all of the news in which out company was included.
What do you dislike?
The tool did not capture all the articles on our company, and the sales team intentionally mislead us trying to lock us into another year contract.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The use case we initially selected Brandwatch for was not in its traditional wheelhouse, and despite it's assurances that it could tackle our scenario, it was not able to deliver. Make sure it can actually meet you use case needs, and build in a 3 or 6 month trial period if necessary.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We intended to use Brandwatch to capture share of voice for our company, but ultimately ended up switching to a competitor.
fake stats, can't be trusted
Brandwatch UK TeamThe interview process at Brandwatch is pathetic. I don't see this as an equal employer. I had 3 rounds of interviews with the team on the multiple-use cases and a presentation of a work sample. I could sense that I have cleared most interview rounds. But they did not offer me an offer letter as not been considerate of equal opportunity. The hired someone from outside and did not inform me after weeks of follow-up I saw informed the situation. Not a good place to grow if oppourtunities not given Equal.
What do you like best?
Ability to create custom dashboards and segment the data in various ways. Also, there's some ability to integrate other data streams from tools such as hootsuite to pull in that data.
What do you dislike?
The data analysis in the tool is not at all intuitive compared to other social listening tools. To get to real topic segmentation analysis, you're only allowed to go through pages and select up to 100 posts at a time to segment, or mass groups of similar phrases together and call them a topic (but the latter means much less accuracy in topic segmentation). Not too mention historical data can be a hit or miss, now that they charge to get 100% historical data on top of what you pay for their limited amount of mentions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use for it's integration ability and ability to create custom dashboards, but use other tools for their ease to analyze data

Using the tool as a part of a larger methodology to help predict sales. At it's minimum, it can track social signals, but I can't rely on it for much more than that.
What do you like best?
The best feature about Brandwatch is the backtracking of historical data. It can backtrack data up to mid 2010. This is very useful if you want to track trends from previous years to reference for any marketing analytics function you can put your hands into.
What do you dislike?
It's less instinctive to use than other social listening tools I''ve used in the past. Previously very involved with Social Studio, now using other social listening tools + Brandwatch.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Historical data is the strong suit of Brandwatch. It also has a social command center function which can be helpful on so many levels.
