What do you like best?
I thoroughly enjoyed how easy it was to login and access all that I had uploaded in minutes.
What do you dislike?
I did not appreciate the customer service from Forrest McDonald, a Support Technician at Backblaze.
Before I go further, I take full responsibility for not caring enough to pay attention to the 30 day window that data stays stored on Backblaze.
*For example, if you backup an external hard drive (which was the case for me) and then unplug it, naively thinking it will be stored longer... the service will keep backing up the computer that said external hard drive was connected to and after 30 days, the external hard drive will no longer be backed up.
Where I have a problem is with the way Forrest McDonald addressed this very upset and distraught person, me. In the first email I explained that I was aware of how the service worked and that I wanted to inquire about recovering this lost external HD from the Backblaze side.
Long story short, Forrest repeated himself by literally copy+pasting his last email, and then proceeded to explain the thing I had already stated I understood in the very first email. ALL-IN-ALL, I am a music producer and from my own mistake, lost hundreds of unfinished works and ALSO can attest that Forrest McDonald, has no heart when it comes to others misfortune.
We are in the information age, this is why support and care in a data recovery business is of utmost importance. I am crushed from my mistake and hurt that someone could respond with no solution, or condolences at the least. I will be writing this review in numerous places, and in numerous ways, because the hours that it will take for me to write 20 bad reviews, will in no way compare to how long it took for me to write and produce the music projects I LOST WITH BACKBLAZE.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Find a cloud storage company that has excellent recovery features and are willing to go the extra mile for you, in case you make a mistake.

Forrest Mcdonald, Support Tech, did not try to resolve, and had zero resolutions to the problem I had with my backup at Backblaze.
Not S3-Compatible , Existing API is extremely unstable for uploading. Upload fails very frequently and lots of API call to upload a single item.
I signed up for a trial, asked 3 times to be unsubscribed for their constant emails and it was not honored. Despite them promising "never to spam you or sell your email." Even contacted support and they wouldn't take me off. No wonder they have a 2.3 star average rating at the time of writing. Backup your data elsewhere.
Avoid Back-Blaze at all cost, when you need them they will not be there for you.I have used back blaze for over a year now, and have found them to be a horrible mistake. The one time I need their service fail to work right. I lost 10 years worth of documents when my internal hard-drive failed. At first I thought all would be well, because I have back-blaze, but they said their was nothing they could do. They claimed that my "internal hard-drive" had been disconnected from their service for over thirty days and that my data had been deleted because of this. The hard-drive work fine until the day it died, and was connected every day to their service. They claimed that they sent me e-mail telling me it was disconnected, I receive no such e-mails. I asked to speak with someone on the phone, but they only use chat and e-mail to communicated with costumers. They refused to refund my account, even after they had clearly failed to provided the service they claim to offer.In short.This is the worst service I have ever used, if you value your data, avoid them.
I used the service for over a year and it initially worked well. Then I got a message from the program that my backup was stopped and that I needed to delete it and restart or my account would be canceled. Then I received a message my account was no longer active so I did nothing because I didn't want to use it. Come to find out I was still being charged for services I was not using despite the messages that my account was not active. When I contacted them they refused to talk to me on the phone and refused a refund even after I pointed out and provided proof I should not have been charged. Their customer service reps were rude and condescending in e-mails and always pointed to vague points that you have to search for to state why I was wrong. Worst company I have ever dealt with. Most tech companies, including ones like Netflix, always offer refunds for services that aren't used if billing was a mistake and they can see an account wasn't used. I recommend no one ever do business with this company unless you want a corrupt back up and to throw money down the drain.
