Pingability can monitor basic web pages, as well as SSL secured URLs (without any extra cost). You can also specify rules for the service to alert you based on certain conditions, such as the first outage, or when the server comes back up, or if there are a certain number of outages within a certain time period. In addition, Pingability.com's service is unique in that it allows you to run SSH commands in the event of a problem, such as restarting your web or database server, or even rebooting your server.
