What do you like best?

There isn't much I like about Zimbra, maybe the fact that it will send mail between stores and management, but other than that I have more complaints than anything. The one thing it does right is text formatting in the email client is relatively streamlined, so you don't have to rely on html code or other frustrating tagging.

What do you dislike?

Zimbra mail is very old and outdated. There are many many better clients that you can use for inter communication between management and associates through email. Zimbra has a very dated user interface that seems like it hasn't been updated since windows 95.; It's extremely gray and dull, and lacks the responsive environment that other software solutions such as microsoft outlook or google mail offers. It's extremely dull and hard to read emails at times because of this. If emails have pictures embedded in to them, you will have to view the image in pieces because the viewing window is so small! That's completely unacceptable in today's modern computing world.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Please don't even consider moving over to Zimbra unless you are over the age of 50. There are many other quality products through other software companies that do it so much better,

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

One of the business problems that is being solved is communication between stores and management. Contacting other stores by phone can be inefficient when they are dealing with customers and you need to have them record important information about a shipment, or even a congratulations message from another store. One of the few benefits is that it is elderly friendly, and wont overwhelm people who are used to broken, old software that is clunky and poorly designed.

What do you like best?

Zimbra is okay, but there is nothing that it does better than Microsoft Outlook or iCal, in my opinion. This is what my company uses, but it would not be my preference.

What do you dislike?

It is not compatible with most calendars (like Google Calendar). I dislike the calendar features overall.

Normal email communication, limited calendar abilities, content sharing is okay.

What do you like best?

Zimbra allows for emails to be sent back and forth easily between Zimbra users. They have also made sending meeting invites easy among Zimbra users.

What do you dislike?

Zimbra is not as compatible with other non-Zimbra users. This program has been difficult to use in terms of scheduling meetings, making appointments, searching for previous emails, organization email folders, etc.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would take into considerations the easy of information sent between non-Zimbra users. I would also ask for a trial period to where a few key members can use Zimbra for a minimum of a month to see if this program is right for you.

As of right now there are no benefits to Zimbra except the fact it allows emails to be sent.

This product simply sends emails back and forth between employees. This is the biggest advantage

What do you dislike?

Zimbra runs as if it was developed in the 1990s, and had I been living in the 1990s, I would have thought this product was a great tool and insight into managing businesses from an emailing and scheduling perspective. However, there are much more current and efficient technology available for people to use.

Conduct a minimum 2 month trial period with key faculty/staff. This will give you an idea if this product is right for you.

What do you like best?

It gets the job done. Intuitive and easy to use. Easily integrates with Outlook.

What do you dislike?

Very outdated interface, as if they haven't updated it since 2000. While still simple to use, it's more difficult to navigate than Outlook and Gmail, both which are superior in its user interface and design. Using Zimbra feels clunky and slow.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This is not the best solution out there. Younger talent will think it's too outdated, which can negatively impact attitudes about the company.
