What do you like best?
Dashboard and Snapshot features. Color and image conditioning somewhat like color conditioning is in Excel. Dashboard feature enables a layer of report organization that is very handy for enabling end users to quickly find what they need.
What do you dislike?
Unable to apply conditioning rules on multiple columns at once. Can only do one column at a time; thus it is time consuming and tedious. Some users cannot open/view reports while others can even when the users are setup with the same access to the reports.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If Yellowfin is supplied through another company that has setup the integration and data source(s), see if you can talk with other existing customers (more than 1) of such a company that has used Yellowfin for more than 3 reports involving large data sets.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We are attempting to supply customized BI reports for our agency's staff and management. However we find that it is slower to build reports on than SSRS, Tableau and Qlik. We find some features such as broadcast failure notification do not work, and the solution is slow overall. We believe the issues may not be actually Yellowfin, but possibly the Credible Behavioral Health database it's setup to work with .
What do you like best?
the graphs and the filters in the dashboards are very intuitive
What do you dislike?
some features like publish/summary ( to prepare tables with KPI's with a target is not available automatically

It is easy to use for show information in executive level

We prepared executive dashboard using output data from own payment software, and offer it to our clients
What do you like best?
I like best that we can redesign the whole product and that it is clearly arranged. Also if you not very common with SQL you are able to create a Report or a Dashboard.
What do you dislike?
You can not use a predefined formula in another predefined formula. And some Features are just available in certain combinations.
Also creating a storyboard is not that easy.

We needed another product to analyse personal costs and to present those results in a good presentations for the Management. With Yellowfin Bi you are able to create good Reports and Dashboards with you can use directly in the storyboard function. Also live presentations are possible.
What do you like best?
Support and customer success team are very cooperative to solve critical business needs.
What do you dislike?
There are some issues while exporting co-displayed reports into PDF/XLSX/CSV. Hope Yellowfin will include and prioritize these export issues on their roadmap.

There are pros and cons in all vendors, so far we have good experience working with their team.

Implementing automation via report scheduling. While the feature works well to solve most issues around report broadcast, there are couple of limitations when scheduling multiple reports at once particularly if they are being co-displayed.
What do you like best?
-Extremely easy to install and apply patches - everything in one place/no modules;
-Great support team and low pricing;
-Beautiful colour palette and chars gallery;
-Great data governance, security on all possible levels - rows, columns, views, reports, folders, dashboards;
-Ability to connect to vast number of various data sources;
- 3rd Party connectors - Twitter, YouTube, Facebook Ads, etc;
- Integration with D3.js charts
What do you dislike?
Upgrade from one major version to another can be a painful experience.
Limitation of dashboards layouts.

Single source of truth - all reports in one place available through the Internet Browser - ability to browse current and historical data. High level reports allowing to drill down to a transactional data. Broadcasts - notifying clients about a certain events.
