Unfortunately, I have had a terrible experience with Teachable. I expend lots of time creating an online course to distribute in their platform. The platform handles and processes the payments of students and charges a commission which is normal. The big problem came when one of my students requested a refund. The platform promises 30 days money back guarantee. I tried to process the refund on the platform and was impossible, I was new to it and couldn't do it. So, I contacted support to request the return, and they said I had to do it, trying to do it the 30 days passed. They told me to reimburse the student myself, which I´m more than happy to do. The problem is that Teachable is the one who processes the sales and receives the taxes, which are a substantial part of the payment. They refuse to return taxes which let me, the course creator, with all the responsibility to return money I never received to the student. I´m in a very difficult spot, very uncomfortable situation. This system is not transparent. Teachable received the money, generated the invoice and kept the taxes, even when the course is cancelled and has to be reimbursed. I don´t recommend Teachable, not for course creators not for the students. You can lose your money in case you want a reimbursement.

WARNING: The following contains my raw frustration with multiple sites that Teachable hosts and the immense difficulty in reaching them in a timely manner. If my situation can be fixed, I'd be happy to re-review this company.These guys are impossible! I can't log in on any of the sites that they host for others. At first I thought it must be the courses and the support teams for those courses themselves, but now, after this has happened across multiple websites, I now see the problem: it's their terrible developers and support team.The bug: Whenever I try to log in via the redirect to their sso.teachable.com page, after entering in the correct credentials (I've verified that incorrect credentials merely keep the user on the login page), I'm redirected to the home page but I'm logged out.The result: I can't access any of the courses that I paid good money for! The support team for the individual sites are clueless to my plight, so I realized that it's not them; it's Teachable's terrible bug support and help desk and articles that do nothing but lead the customers on in a maze of frustration.I've tried everything: using different browsers, uninstalling and reinstalling browsers, clearing cache, cookies, hosted app data, and history, and STILL can't log in! I'm tired of talking with the support team of the individual sites, so I figured I should go straight to the source. I had to make a myTeachable account and even create a fake school just to contact them! If there's an easier way to do this, these guys sure didn't make it easy to find, with their confusing link mazes and misleading instructions! I swear, no one knows how to find you! Please contact me and, if you can fix the issues I have with all of your sites, I'll reconsider.

I canceled in advance of the end of the trial period. There is no phone contact. I created a ticket requesting that the two months charges be refunded. My dad had died within the same month, and I was busy trying to right side my family and had canceled, so thought no more of it. Until I noticed the charge in pending status this month. I reviewed and the previous month I was also charged despite my cancelation.After following the online process, one month was credited. I requested Teachable refund the first month also, the response: "Since I have already made one exception to our policy, I am not able to issue a refund for the second charge. I am sorry about that! Be Cautious, their platform is respected, but their business practice leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

After using teachable for a year, We errantly decided to switch to their own payment processor. Despite claiming that they use their own set up with stripe , as soon as we switched we suddenly stopped being paid for money we generated! With 5 thousand dollars in sales in May, we still haven't been paid and today it's the 25th of June. First, teachable states we didn't fill out a W9 so they could hold our money. Then they have stated that they received the W9, but we will be paid through their weekly payment schedule which was last Thursday. a week later, and we still haven't received any money. They also now state that they hold 10% of funds for "fraud protection". I have sent 3 queries to teachable, each time they escalate the problem to their finance team but still we have no money in our bank. Totally unacceptable!
