What do you like best?
Nothing - it doesn't live up to its promises

The Scrolling Function doesn't work despite uninstalling and reinstalling countless times

It's easy to capture images - but every version has done that before.
What do you dislike?
This product is faulty. Thousands of my images have been lost - and Techsmith say they can't do anything. I've used it as I've always done with every version. But this one is a shocker.
No words can describe how bad it is that this product has lost most of my work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't buy it unless you get a guarantee from the company that your images will be safe. I lost 99% of my work and nothing can bring all those images back. The company does not stand behind you.

NO benefits at all - I've lost 99% of my work.
What do you like best?
Snagit is an easy-to-use tool to capture images in real time.
What do you dislike?
You have to open each new snapshot as a new project.

If you want a simple product that can simplify screenshot abilities to share with other project managers, this may be for you.

We use snagit to quickly share images with editing notes with each other.
What do you like best?
I like the ability to capture the entire screen, a portion of the screen, or video of a sequence of events - and then be able to edit them to some extent. The images offer more screen editing options to put in arrows, remove (hide) information, etc, as needed.
Additionally, you can print directly from the product without having to copy it into a document and print that.
What do you dislike?
The licensing terms seem to have changed in recent years - they are now doing per user licensing, this means that if you share a single PC among three shifts, you need to have a license for each individual user. We have confirmed this with a Snag-It user.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely consider your needs for this, if your PCs are dedicated, the licensing terms are not bad, but if you share the devices among multiple users read the terms carefully.

We are solving documentation and education needs for information to be sent to our internal user community.
What do you like best?
It works for screen capture and recording. It's simpler and faster than taking a standard screenshot.
What do you dislike?
It did not meet my needs. With a bit of extra effort, I could accomplish something similar by simply taking a screenshot and pasting it in a PowerPoint and adding text and graphics if needed. I ended up getting Camtasia Studio, which I love and recommend, to create training videos.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking to screen record and add audio narration and edit out any lag times during the video, I recommend Camtasia Studio.
