First of all, their website doesn't have the information needed to integrate the tracking code after creating an account. Secondly, the tracking code supplied in the email they sent also doesn't work. It links to a script that doesn't exist (404 error. Same with the one on their support page and startup guide. I won't even bother contacting them because because if the basic functionality doesn't work out of the box, I will never trust them to record any data on my website.
What do you like best?
The simplicity of the set up made it really easy to get started.
Screen recordings have been really useful.
What do you dislike?
CSS selector is pretty clunky and not very accurate when reporting. Not being able to merge multiple events using 'AND' functionality was extremely limiting, only 'OR' is available.
The point and click event selector didn't work for our web-app either.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do a thorough test implementation and don't rely on their test data in the free trial to make sure it matches your needs.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Looking to remove product analytics and time involved in setting that up outside of developers hands but Smartlook hasn't proved its value as we're having to look at using a new platform.

Actually seeing what user does, especially when it comes to purchase optimization

Business Model is hard to get, the pricing doesn't make any sense for custom packagae

What do you like best?
I like the events feature. I wish it could be expanded to automatically capture errors, js errors. Also like the rage clicks feature.
What do you dislike?
I dislike the black block that covers user input... maybe use ** instead so it doesn't cover a good chuck of the user's interaction.

Smartlook seems to be a great tool to help with qualitative analysis of users' Interaction both on mobile and web
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We want to improve the experience on our mobile/web app. We have used hotjar before but unfortunately they do not provide mobile support. With smartlook, we're able to not only analyze user interaction on our web platform but also journey with them on their mobile experiences.
What do you like best?
The ease with it was implemented in a new web page, the simple dashboard and good features like recording the use of the web page in a video.
What do you dislike?
I am not very proficient in web development and am using a web page not made by me from the ground up, with this in mind I didn't manage to record events when trying for a short while (something that probably will work when putting some time into it).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very easy, especially if you are not proficient in web development. Only one bracket to copy paste into the index file to get it going!
