What do you like best?
the project management system is quite ok, that's the reason I started using their platform. But they deleted my content without warning me.
What do you dislike?
No matter how good the translation is, if the platform can spontaneously delete your content, then why bother using it?
Plus the team was super aggressive, they spammed different email accounts of your company domain just to get an answer from you. When you politely told them to back off, they continued to spam you.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
DON'T USE THEM if you wish to actually keep your content on the platform.

What do you like best?
SmartCAT is an intuitive platform that I have enjoyed using for quite some time now. It has all the basic functionalities of a CAT tool and is great for connecting LSPs with freelancers.
What do you dislike?
The "find and replace" function doesn't work. The Machine translation could be greatly improved. However, my biggest problem with them as of late has been a lack of payments. I have been in contact with the SmartCAT support team for almost 6 months about this delayed payment (which is worth a substantial amount), but as the payment has not been made by the LSP, SmartCAT have been brushing me off, to the point of stopping replying to my emails. SmartCAT say they guarantee to make payments for jobs completed and accepted within SmartCAT, but have failed to deliver. I have therefore lost complete trust in them and would not recommend.

SmartCAT is good for use as CAT tool, but don't rely on them to comply with payments.

SmartCAT is all online, so it means you can work from any device and pick up exactly where you left off. It also allows you to chat to project managers quickly and easily and negotiate rates and deadlines. Apart from that it provides all the benefits of using any CAT tool - uniformity, consistency and ease translation.

It was a great plugin for a year. Now, the support doesn't respond after 2 months. Unacceptable

It is broken, and they didn't fix it or communicate.

We're trying to solve client problems as an agency. Smartcat made this difficult.

Jeg lavede en opgave for en kunde og sørgede for at markere opgaven som "done" så snart jeg var færdig, men er aldrig blevet betalt for opgaven, da kunden aldrig accepterede den færdige opgave. Jeg har skrevet til kunden flere gange og spurgt venligt ind til kvaliteten af mit arbejde og betaling, men alle beskeder er blevet ignoreret.For at man kan få lov til at bede om betaling skal ens arbejde accepteres af kunden. Som det er lige nu kan kunden bruge ens arbejde og undlade at markere det som accepteret. Det betyder, at man som oversætter aldrig vil modtage betaling. Der er heller ikke nogen måde at lægge en vurdering af kunden på, så man har ikke mulighed for at advare andre oversættere om dårlige betalere.Utroligt utroværdig side, der gør det ekstremt let for kunder at misbruge oversættere. Hold jer langt væk.
