What do you like best?
Easy to use and logical to navigate around with clear visuals.
What do you dislike?
When a new version comes out you don't automatically get the new features. They come at an added cost meaning you have to keep changing and upgrading.

If you want something more sophisticated, check out other options on the market. For simplicity and ease of use by a client, this works.

Developing websites all in one place makes things simpler. Once built it's easy to use Silver Stripe to make minor edits and put in the hands of someone less technical.
What do you like best?
I love how this software is open source. You can basically manipulate it to do whatever you want with some work. this makes it highly customize-able for your needs
What do you dislike?
there is a lot of options, maybe too much. As long as you devote the time into it you can really figure it out but in this fast paced world with not enough hours in the day is it worth devoting time?

give it some time. really dig into it and see if its for you.

this is a great solution to content management CMS. If you really like this service, this can be the one.

We needed a cloud based solution that would work for our developers and sales teams. The slick UI combined with the customizations complemented the demands of our cross functional teams.
What do you dislike?
Importing our client specific css rules required some reformatting (rules) -- but with a little effort it worked just as well.

Start with the basic features -- stay for the custom.

Mostly internal training publications and new feature demos. SilverStripe reduced the number of tools our team was using.
What do you like best?
The best thing about SilverStripe CMS apart from all the excellent features it offers is the fact that it is open sourced and can be modified throughly. Moreover, the flexibility it provides over Wordpress is great.
What do you dislike?
It can be intimidating for beginners, but there a ton of resources to help you. Also, a small user base as compared to other CMS like Wordpress.

Very reliable. Saved a lot of time and effort. Made content management slightly easy.

I like how simplified the UI was. You really only had access to exactly what you needed. Unlike WordPress where you have unlimited options that you never touch.

Not as customizable. Sometimes I wanted to make some edits on appearance and was unable to. You have to push everything to your development team.

Look at the current CMS you are using and really think about what features you actually need. When was the last time you used those features? If you start to realize that there is only small handful of items you need to access, you are better off with a CMS like SilverStripe.

I used this project when I was working at a startup who built up the web presences of local businesses. For our clients who just went through a redesign, this CMS was perfect. There was no need to have unlimited options. No need to change their content. All they wanted was a place to manage contact form submissions and submit new blogs. It simplified the process for them.
