PROS & CONS
What are the best aspects of this product?
The integration with Salsa Engage (email & marketing) is, far and away, the best aspect of Salsa, but there are many other platforms that can do this for far less money. Imports are straightforward and there is simple way to global update- ie add all in an import to a Salsa Engage group.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
Salsa CRM is not intuitive or easy to use, limiting the use within our organization to one staff person (NOT what you want in a donor platform or CRM). Manual data entry is clunky and time consuming. The built in formats emphasize services we don't offer/ info we don't need to collect and seem better suited to a very large fundraising enterprise. It is very difficult to customize data fields in a way that is easy for others to see and use. There is a limit to how many customizable fields you can have. It is way overpriced. Customer service is almost nonexistent. They couldn't even send the bill to the right place. They locked us in for a 3 year contract and we got very little value from that contract. The charge s are not upfront, hidden additional fees. Running a report is time consuming, repetitive, and not intuitive. Should I continue?
What features/services would you like to see in future versions of this product?
None. I will not use this product again. I inherited this contract when I started my job and have been waiting out our contract since about a month in.

Salsa Engage, Salsa CRM is not as robust of a donor database program.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
Upgrading past donor records, Transferring data from another system -- due in part to limited tech support, Lack of Customization for nonprofits that have annual membership dues, limited categories to track methods for Appeals, No calculations for in-kind volunteer time,
What features/services would you like to see in future versions of this product?
To improve the above. To be able to do membership and donation calculations. Improve the volunteer reporting and calculations. To have more of the tech support with actual fundraising experience.

Very limited, but helpful solution. Still waiting to resolve issue.

What are the best aspects of this product?
Having information from questions is simple and helps me to dig in and sort to get precisely what I want and for a task. The greatest part about Salsa is your employees who are helping me achieve what I want to do. I've been working on Clay, with Pittsburgh a lot of times, and he is friendly, competent, effective and also always offers outstanding customer support, taught me easiest way and seems to be incredibly detailed and doesn't even end our workshop until I'm happy that I got anything I needed.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
I wasn't trained when I accepted my job, so I'll have to invest time trying to understand Salsa. Sadly, my duties and obligations prohibit me from having the requisite learning programs to be expert to use Salsa. I 'm looking forward to educating our employees personally or on-site!
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
We are in a position to classify and evaluate contributors for proposals that have led to higher return on investment.

What are the best aspects of this product?
It's very easy to use, a novice can quickly access the platform. Great customer experience, assisted us to learn on how to create the type of system as we necessary it-could attach our own data and get everything managed effectively!
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
Great digital software. It's operating now, but I'm hoping with something more stable throughout the coming years.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
Effective contributor monitoring, more effective building of the areas we have, convenience of reporting and drawing up, and patterns in IDing.
