ACE Adventures & Hideaways had been a long term customer until recent times forced us to look into every cost.We had Receipt Bank connected to our accounts software Xero and it worked well. Xero purchased Hubdoc a couple of years ago which provide the same service. If you have a Xero account, Hubdoc is free.I contacted Receipt Bank Customer Service to see if we could get a partial refund for the remaining time we won't be using on our pre-paid annual subscription. The response was to quote the terms and conditions and refuse any refund.That is fine if you want to play that way, but soon enough the time will come when no one wants to play with you..
Awful service. Have paid for business plus and app says I haven’t. Can’t phone them and waiting for an email,response. This is the second time this has happened to me with this company. Annoyed.
Whilst it is a great product, with Hubdoc now free to Xero users we have seen all our clients moving across. As an accounting firm partner, I warn other accounting firms to be very cautious of this company. They do not disclose all their terms and conditions, it’s in links to their websites, and despite me advising them I would no longer be using their service they charged my credit card for a full 12 months. In Australia the ACCC requires companies to contact customers before the cancellation period, and with full disclosure of the terms and conditions. The arrogance of management is dealing with this issue is a reflection of the company culture and probably explains why the account managers in Australia change all the time. Be very careful if you engage with this company as they will do whatever it takes to get funds. If your clients are using Xero I suggest Hubdoc is a more cost effective option, and you can avoid dealing with this company.
We signed up for RB on an annual sub in 2019 and had numerous issues and could get absolutely no support which made any sense - they refused to refund despite all the issue and inability to link all of our processes so we have not used it for 9 months and closed it down. They have this week charged our account £269 and are saying they need to consider if we are entitled to a refund! Appallingly bad practice and no service levels at any point of our dealings with them, avoid at all costs unless you have fully checked that your systems are compatible as their small print is very deceiving.
Beware of special offers and auto-renew! Last year Receipt Bank offered their second tier package at a discounted price if you purchased it for a year. This just auto-renewed at the higher price with no notification of the renewal. Normally when something like this happens you have a 30 day cooling off period, not with Receipt Bank, it's in their T&C's that they don't have to remind you and that they don't have to refund you/help you go onto a lower plan. Pretty poor way of keeping your customers long term for short term gain. I will not renew again but stuck with them for another year.....
