What do you like best?
I like that Qubole supports many query engines and has a rich array of features.
What do you dislike?
Qubole has a very glitchy, poppy interface and presents many unclear error signals and warnings.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We use Qubole for analysis, exploration, and mostly to work out queries we want to run as part of a production workflow later.
Suppliers be warned, if you provide services to this business that are legitimate and legally valid, they will revert to charge backs on that card in an attempt not to pay for your goods or services. You will be forced to threaten court action and then deal with the emotion of them crying foul as you have discovered their unique brand of supplier customer relations. Please insist on BACS transfers and cleared funds before you do any work for them.

please improve ml and ai offering
Dont just say spark can do it..
have more blogs
technical sessions on how to do it.
learn from products like sagemaker ,cloudml and others on how to solve ml ai piece for organization
build automatic suites for anomaly detection unsupervised learning etc.
share code and engineering experitse through blog and explain how to leverage the qubole product.
Make serverless implementation like presto glue .

build deeplearning applications for clients and share the experience with others functionally and technically
have redis for storing hot data

Scheduling.
Big data workloads with spark.
Used presto for some time but now there are seveless options from Amzon which has replaced all of our spark workloads
What do you like best?
I like saved queries & history feature. I very often need to reference results elsewhere
What do you dislike?
-sorting output only sorts on first 100 rows, not on all of the data.
-downloading data is buried in a dropdown
-its not terribly clear when you are editing an existing query vs creating a new one.

analyzing volume, quality of data on my website. i have increased the quality and quantity as a result.

It's open source and it works well, when it works.
What do you dislike?
Having to wait for the cluster to start to edit notebooks is a major hassle.
Most of the time you can't even visualise the notebooks without a cluster being running.
Environments don't seem to work most of the time.
The libraries installed by default are very old and often incompatible.
Zeppelin doesn't have histogram (one of the most important plots ever) as part of its easy-plotting feature (if I'm adding more code to use the bar plots then I might as well use a proper plotting library).
Cluster setup is not very intuitive.
The whole thing just crashes if you display too much data (e.g.: forget to limit the number of rows).
Plotly's tool bar is not rendered properly (buttons are displayed all over the place, instead of their appropriate locations).
Too many autoscaling issues.
Very cryptic error messages and exceptions.
The notebook saving mechanism sometimes loses data (i.e.: characters I just typed disappear).
Strange bugs reading parquet files from S3 (only works on a certain clusters).
Strange bugs changing clusters (error messages - I often have to export the notebook and reupload them just to change clusters!).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it first. See if you can put up with the current issues and solve high-priority problems before committing to it.
