What do you like best?
It provides data on your Stripe account that you may not already have about your new subscriptions and churn. It's an easy way to gauge how your subscription business is doing.
What do you dislike?
Not a huge problem but there are not a whole lot of features it has that we use aside from the dashboard that lets us know how our MRC is doing.
Recommendations to others considering the product
It's easy to get hooked up with your Stripe account so evaluating it is easy to do.

Keeping track of our subscription revenue.
What do you like best?
Real time ARR, LTV and churn reporting is very helpful and makes reporting key metrics to the executive team seamless
What do you dislike?
The numbers that we pull out of Profitwell are ~95% accurate. This is not due to an issue with Profitwell, but due to our set up in Zuora. If you struggle to pull live ARR out of Zuora, you will likely struggle to pull it out of Profitwell too
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure that the reporting in Zuora is accurate. We assumed that Profitwell would fix our reporting issues out of Zuora, but it does not fix every issue that comes from Zuoras ARR reporting. If your data is clean coming out of Zuora, this is an excellent product
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Giving transparency to the executive team in regard to ARR and KPI reporting. Much cleaner reporting than anything produced by our team in excel
What do you like best?
live ARR tracking, and the breakout of ARR waterfall by churn, downsell, new sale, upsell. Going one step further to show then trend of each contributor of the waterfall (growth rate detail, retention rates) is very helpful at giving a broader perspective for how the business is doing. Having the ability to go down to the account level detail to see how it's changed month by month provides the other end of the spectrum in detail.
What do you dislike?
It only provides a directional number rather than an exact number. There are nuances to our business that make it difficult for profitwell to at a real time spit out the live ARR number. The biggest issue comes when we use promotions to incentivize our customers. We have not gotten to that level of detail with profitwell to regulate those month by month changes. The other main issue involves credits, which can somethimes show as a deactivation and reactivation. This shouldn't impact ARR
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Keep up to date with updating profitwell when you update other business systems.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Problems all across the business, but mainly centering around solutions regarding churn. When we reorganize our support organization, do we see an impact on churn positively or negatively? How did our introduction of an updated product impact our retention story? Are we on the offensive by trying to upsell our current customers or are we more at risk with how much we've had to downsell and downgrade our descriptions? We are able to have a quicker, directional answers to these questions by using profitwell.
What do you like best?
Profitwell is free, first of all, and requires very little setup if you're using one of the supported billing services. It has an intuitive interface with most of the basic requirements for a SaaS business, and will give you lots of insight on the customer and company level right away.
The add-ons are super useful, particularly Retain. Delinquent churn is a big issue for most businesses, and their solution counters it right away.
Service from the Profitwell team has always been great, which makes a big difference.
What do you dislike?
The filtering and segmentation features are lacking compared to other solutions like ChartMogul, but again, it's free.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Profitwell has been our go-to resource for MRR and overall company metrics related to our direct credit-card business, and the simplicity lets anyone step in and find useful info.
What do you like best?
ProfitWell is very easy and intuitive to use. The most important aspects of the financial parts of a subscription based online business is readily available in a nice and clean interface.
What do you dislike?
There is not much to dislike. Maybe some slightly more detailed explanation of the different terms and abbreviations used in the app would be helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product
I would recommend ProfitWell to anybody running an online subscription based business. If you are already using stripe for payments setting up ProfitWell is a breeze.

With ProfitWell it is easy to follow the trends for recurring revenue, see what subscription plans are most effective and evaluate changes in regards to their effect on the rate of new subscriptions.
