User experience isn't very good. Navigating isn't very easy or fast, and writing a task sometimes gives errors in both submitting as well as formatting.

Projectmanagement of a big IT project. Benefits are the endless nesting possibilities to keep things clear. Changes are being tracked and saved, so you can always see the change history. This time there can be no discussion between client and IT company.

What do you like best?

OpenProj is an inexpensive alternative to high-priced applications like MS Project. It is easy to use and not nearly as cumbersome as other scheduling programs. Perfect option for someone looking to create basic project schedules and display timelines in bar chart or calendar form. Easily tracks percentage of task completed, start/end dates, etc. Print to PDF or use Snipping Tool to save as an image file.

What do you dislike?

Would be nice if files could open in MS Office suite of software so that clients can quickly view files without having to download new software.

OpenProj is a great tool for creating Gantt charts and project schedules, which is our business' primary use for the software.

What do you like best?

I have been using OpenProject for the past 2 years. I was using Redmine previously in my company before moving to OpenProject. I love the UI offered by OpenProject - it's not as boring or monotonous as Redmine. As a project manager, I constantly monitor the status of bugs reported within my projects. The ease of use in setting up filters and saving these filters privately/publicly is a feature that has helped me within my organization and with my clients. Setting a custom filter to filter out the features that are being developed in different phases and creating a separate menu item for this filter helps my clients get a quick idea about the features that my team is developing in each phase of the project.

What do you dislike?

it would be really great if there was an option to export cost report. While trying to understand the resource utilization within my project, exporting the cost report as an excel sheet will greatly help me in filtering out different reports. Also, there have been many cases where I get a server error when uploading documents. My clients have reported the same issue, which is very annoying when you are trying to share important documents.

It's an amazing tool which is very easy to use and covers every aspect of Project Management in the simplest way possible.

Managing and tracking the project from a high level and the ease of drilling down to the granular level is something that has always made me root for OpenProject.
