What do you like best?
Having one place to log into things is nice. It's especially helpful in our case when we have many services to log into, some of which use shared passwords. Previously we had an encrypted lookup script for these cases, so having it integrated into the browser is helpful.
What do you dislike?
Adding SAML to everything when the world seemed to be moving to OAuth has added a lot of complexity. Extra support had to be integrated into our software for it to function fully. It does not support Basic Authentication. Most annoying, the Firefox addon does not work in the nightly builds of Firefox at all -- a nonsensical error message appears instead. The UI is often confusing -- you can't tell which items are generic services where you have to save your own password vs ones where the company has set them up for you.

We have a lot of online and cloud based services to log into. We can do this from one place, and it allows us easy login options to places that

I don't really like it at all to be honest
What do you dislike?
-There are two different apps for SSO and for verification - how does that make any sense?
-I have to verify my login every time on my phone and it asks me to do this 2-3 times a day, which is a pain. I run into a demo and have to take 5 minutes to get my phone and verify my login before I can show my prospect the demo, huge pain
-We didn't really get any training on how to use it and it is not very seamless to me at all, for instance, I tried to login to a separate app I use and it doesn't even let me login because its not "Registered" with Okta
I much prefer LastPass from a user friendliness standpoint. Lastpass allows me to categorize apps based on use as well as generate organic passwords.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
-Issues logging into apps
-Issues staying logged in when I need it most.
I wish that Okta allowed me to log in at the beginning of the day so it wouldn't disrupt my workflow through out the day with the verify app
Having used Okta for over a year now, I would have to say it's not a product I can recommend. The support and account management work on an average SLA of 5 working days for a response, they are complete unengaged. When COVID-19 hit and we had to downsize our contract, they refused. Apparently the contract states we cannot reduce our license count, this is despite the new contract not having started.
Our experience with Okta customer service was awful, to say the least. We have been trying to cancel our subscription for 3 months now. Since we are still paying for something we requested to cancel months ago and their ''cancel button'' on-site doesn't work, we tried to get in touch with someone. They either don't reply or reply with an attitude and even worse, they canceled the call we tried to schedule to be able to talk to someone who could help (this just happened actually and was the drop that broke the camel's back and got me to leave this review and waste more time on this matter).So far, they have charged us 3 months of payment (150USD) and i hope we can put a stop to this soon.DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED
Been trying to get out of the automatic renewal of my account before the end of the “free trial”. Sent dozens of email - absolutely NO response. There is even a customer “representative” that keep sending me email asking how Im doing with the platform and completely ignoring my answers when I get back to her asking to deactivate my account !There is absolutely NO way to deactivate your account yourself.I would advise against using Okta, use any other SAML Authenticator- we’re back on 365.
