What do you like best?
The theoretical use of MineralTree was attractive to us. They are on the right track with real-time invoice capture, PO matching, and Payment all in one portal.
What do you dislike?
Where to start. The concept was great, but almost none of it works as expected when interfaced with Microsoft Dynamics GP. Invoice capture takes a full day to process (electronic documents are sent to Sweeden to be visually matched), you get your scans back 24 hours later. Matching is spotty, and does not pick up on things like freight, sales tax, surcharges, handling fees, etc. Anything that is not listed as a line item on the invoice is an exception. Most of our documents got "stuck" and were unable to be posted in Mineral Tree. They would need entered in our accounting software by hand. Finally, they had no idea how to handle terms discounts. They told us in the sales pitch they could do it in October of 2017, while actually the feature was still in development. It did not launch until June 2018. Once it finally launched, it was riddled with "bugs" that prevented any time savings whatsoever. Ultimately, we canned the project after working on and off for over a year trying to launch. 6 months later they terminated the implementation manager we'd been working with and contacted us again asking if we'd still like to implement. It seemed like they'd used us as a beta test. Turned out to be a big waste of time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Press the sales people for live demos of everything you will use. Make sure you speak with one of the software engineers to get a full understanding of what the system is capable of. Don't settle for assurances from the sales reps.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We are not solving any problems with AP through MineralTree. The benefit we've realized is that we need to be much more careful in researching and viewing demos before investing time in implementation.
What do you like best?
They mailed all our payments for us which saved us time and money.
What do you dislike?
They were behind the updates that Netsuite provided and was not able to handle multi subsidiaries like we had originally expected.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Reduced time by mailing our payments
What do you like best?
This software works for both small and midsize businesses, which is fabulous.
What do you dislike?
ACH payments were difficult to learn and to sync to our Quickbooks with our bank.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
The sync capabilities and invoicing
What do you like best?
Easy setup, good customer support, they listen to customer feedback.
What do you dislike?
Netsuite integration is ok but has some bugs if you have multiple financial calendars. Does not yet have SSO/SAML capability. Vendor management portal not yet ready but on roadmap.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you don't need major vendor management or lots of tax requirements, MT is the way to go. It's a good middle ground between something like Bill.com and Tipalti.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Moving all our AP from in house checks to third party mailing and ACH. Allows better tracking of approvals for auditing purposes, allows people in multiple locations to work together. Allows internal purchasers ability to see payment status, and alerts vendors when payments go out, cutting down the time our AP person used to spend just providing information.
What do you like best?
I like that my boss who is the only signer and travels can approve payments wherever he's at. Also that half the work is done by the behind the scenes team who fills in as much detail as possible the night before I look at them.
What do you dislike?
It's still a work in progress. Still bugs being worked out. Some things are not as intuitive as they should be. Credit memos are not easy for one.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Vendors getting paid more timely so they are happy. Less filing and paper which saves time.
