SDK is 3 years old an doesn't work
Absolutely unreliable. I would not recommend it to anyone.
What do you like best?
Very easy to use and get going with recording. Videos are centralized and easily accessible. Caption or annotation feature is useful.
What do you dislike?
Videos tend to take a while to upload to the cloud. There's no option to save videos locally, and we've lost videos that weren't able to uploaded properly.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Video recording of user interviews or usability testing.
What do you like best?
I really like how I can add notes to the videos and also easily watch the old recordings and rewind/fast forward easily. I like the ease that lookback gives people, I am able to watch a live session from anywhere and also able to go back and refer to old recordings.
What do you dislike?
I really don't like how I cannot close the chat portion when viewing sessions on lookback. I usually use slack to contact the user research moderator instead of using the chat/comment portion. Because I want to make the video screen larger I wish I could close the chat part. I also wish the entire block would be clickable when trying to see old recordings instead of just the text link of the participant. I also wish I didn't have to click twice to join a live session.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think Lookback overall is pretty simple to use, but I would definitely tell others to check out other competitors. I think my favorite part of Lookback is really the ease of watching a live session, but the most frustrating part is not being able to minimize the chat portion
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Lookback provides the benefits to employees of being able to watch and refer back to old recordings so we can analyze the user feedback later on. It helps us solve how users feel/respond to designs, content, etc. The main benefits I've seen is that employees can see the recordings live from anywhere which is awesome. Business wise, we are usually solving user problems, bringing in participants to see how they would respond, feel, or expect user flows and experiences to be.
What do you like best?
Everything is now stored on the cloud. Instead of having to have an external hard drive.
What do you dislike?
Buggy. Sometimes sound or video cuts out mid session for remote observers.
