What do you like best?
Very little to like about Jahia, it needs an architecture overhaul.
What do you dislike?
Almost everything. I hear it is extremely FAST on the frontend, but working on the backend is a special kind of torture. Its taken me 8 billable hours to achieve what I could do in 80 minutes on a regular CMS.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at other options, consider multisite format as well
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
It's good for a hotel chain that has many microsites, but I really think this deal happened because of some kind of mutually beneficial friendship or relationship. I cant imagine anybody in their right mind would choose Jahia.

What do you like best?
Good user interface that lets you perform necessary tasks, can put together the website well. It is a powerful platform and easy to make updates.
What do you dislike?
Some aspects needs updating and changing. Expensive software and startup, and needs better resources for users for better experience.

For building customers focused websites and multiple different scenarios like intranets to extranets, and commerce sites and in multi-site and single site use cases
What do you like best?
Good interface that lets you perform necessary tasks, easy to navigate and feels comfortable for content editors.
The platform has the abilities to authenticate against multiple stores of users/groups
What do you dislike?
Some of the components feel oudated, need a better documentation especially in-context to the platform. The price is expensive and wish there was a free trial version

if you need a portal + CMS it's perfectly suited

solves problems :Transactional sites, intranets, Single Page Applications and much more
What do you like best?
We can create and publish articles easily in western and eastern languages, left-to right, right to left. Jahia's developers have been very involved in our ongoing development and because of our work together, new features have been added to DX so every client could benefit. The addition of marketing and promotional tools inside the CMS has been very helpful. There is local technical support I can meet with.
What do you dislike?
The solution is not standard or well used in the media industry so there isn't a wealth of knowledge or user stories we can go to to solve industry-specific problems. We've had to customize the content entry quite a bit in order to do some things that would be standard in other CMS that specific to media and publishing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have strong J2EE developers with other creative skills, get certified, and have UX and front end folks learn about the system as well.

The nature of our content and audience require that we publish across many languages, including those that are read from right to left. This needed to be easy for our editors to input and the experience for our web site and mobile users had to be as elegant as the English and left to write language pages.
