What do you like best?
For what works well, you can really do a lot.
What do you dislike?
Their service is / was (2015-2020 customer) very buggy. We had bi-monthly calls with them, but there was little progress to show, and no prioritization to correct long-outstanding major functionality that simply didn't work.
WORSE, they would release code EVEN AFTER we reported major failures while it was in beta.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We had a customer BI portal (white-labeled). It initially provided a great environment for customers to visualize business performance. It had eventually devolved to the point where NO customers objected to us moving to a competitor's platform.
What do you like best?
It is an ok tool for very simple visualizations and calculations. The opening speed of visualizations is very good. That's maybe the only one thing I liked about it.
What do you dislike?
I worked with Birst more than two years in total. The journey was full with advanced BI development items that the Birst tool was not able to do. The back-end of the tool was very heavy, complicated and required long reloading time to get things fixed. The tool lacked dynamic and on-the-fly aggregation features. The tool often gave error messages without any guidance on how to move forward. Birst support was not helpful. Instead of fixing a bug in the software, once they offered me to live with a workaround. I could continue with this list of issues with Birst...
Overall, working with Birst gives a completely opposite experience as working with a few other BI tools which can handle any advance needs essentially error-free in a simple and clean way.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Nothing anymore since a few months ago. We solved problems by not using Birst anymore. I am completely happy with the BI tool that we selected instead of Birst though.
What do you like best?
End to end, cloud based architecture. Integrated ETL layer. Fairly fast to implement.
What do you dislike?
Limited user interface functionality, limited support (especially in the UK, multiple and rapid version releases.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Attempting to create consistent, global reporting supporting multiple countries; Rapid deployment was necessary but also highlighted a lack of robustness within the product.
What do you like best?
Visualizations are easy but managing data can be more difficult with Birst.
What do you dislike?
The ETL processes are not easy to work with. The pricing is expensive as well.

I would shop around. There are a number of better solutions.
