What do you like best?
Easy overview, good user interface and the ability to tag people and add locations. The other main competitors also have these features.
What do you dislike?
That is doesn't work
Support will not help you but waste your time by replying without ready your descriptions of the problems.
Support "online" chat honestly seemed fake... the online badge would come on in business hours and then disappear instantly when you press it to chat.

Service was helpful to be able to enter posts in one place and have it post to multiple social platforms
What do you dislike?
They said their billing practice was to send and advance email telling me my trial was expiring and that they would be invoicing me. They never sent the advance email and billed me at 2 am for $370. I cancelled my account within 10 hours after they billed once I found the charge and contacted them immediately for a refund. I have sent followup emails twice about this charge and they say they've opened a ticket on it, but have never followed up with me. I have to wait 30 days at my bank before disputing a charge, so am in the holding period before I do that. Hootsuite has not made one single effort to act with any amount of integrity regarding this issue. I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for fraudulent billing practices.

Posting on multiple platforms at once.
No benefits as price was significantly more than advertised and their support is nonexistent.
What do you like best?
I used this platforms for many years in a professional capacity. When they first came out, they were reliable, informative, incredibly intuitive for the price point. I have since been unable to say the same for them. While they still offer a lot of options for reliable social listening, that can be done with a free account since reporting requires payment.
What do you dislike?
In the last 6 months, I have encountered more errors and down time than I ever have before. Their platform often requires numerous reloads to show information. Due to a myriad of changes to the social platforms that they post to, Hootsuite does not always post to said platforms in the desired formats or using the desired tagging. Clients would be better served using a slightly more expensive platform, or series of platforms, to accomplish the same goals. The lack of reliability of uptime and inconsistent functionality leave this platform lacking.

It offers a unique place in the market for its price point but will leave you frustrated when it fails to post, post correctly, or crash without warning.

It was our solution for social media scheduling and time management, but we have since moved to a more reliable platform. When I spoke to a representative about the down times and general reliability, the representative spent more time telling me about keeping my account because the prices were increasing than actually discussing this issues at hand.
What do you like best?
Obviously scheduling social posts is nice, but there are many better options out there. Hootsuite is not very intuitive and overall I hated working on it.
What do you dislike?
We tried it and found it to be extremely clumsy and difficult to use. Certain features that can't be done due to social platform restraints COULD be handled better to make the manual posting easier for their customers. Other platforms offer much better solutions. Many of our photos loaded wrong, we constantly had errors, the interface is just LACKING big time. We used it for a month and decided we did not like it and tried to get a refund just to find out that when you pre-pay for the year you are stuck with it. No refunds allowed. Their customer support is awful and to let a dissatisfied customer leave angry is not a great way to do business. A waste of $350.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do your homework and thoroughly research your other options for this service. Do not commit to a year with them unless you are very sure. If you look at the competition you are unlikely to choose Hootsuite.

I haven't seen any benefits when compared to several other social scheduling platforms. Hootsuite was my least favorite that we tried.

The layout of the page itself was generally easy to navigate.
What do you dislike?
Hootsuite does not publicize all of their updates (including ones that will effect your posts), does not notify you when or why something fails, and is making it increasingly hard to use the program to effectively manage social accounts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go with HUBSPOT instead.

The biggest benefit was that you can schedule posts as FB accounts, pages, and groups.
