What do you like best?
It is integrated with Gmail, which is extremely important.
What do you dislike?
Not a strong dislike, a matter of taste, but I preferred the user interface of ToDoIst
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you use gmail and google calendar, try gqueues and todoits.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Professional task scheduling for groups that integrates with gmail.
What do you like best?
That I can manage handreds of taks easily - both personal and professional.
What do you dislike?
Would like to have an ability to quickly view top 3 tasks in each tree easily.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Managing a heavy task load.
What do you like best?
GQueues accommodates the needs of my usage model, both at Work and at Home The flexibility is there for anyone to realize productivity gains using GQueues in conformance to the demands of their workflow. Whether that means using GQueues to implement GTD or another productivity framework, the user can accomplish that goal with the feature set GQueues provides.
What do you dislike?
GQueues Google Calendar integration creates a new, separate "GQueues" calendar to house Events created from eMail so they are saved into GQueues as date-connected Tasks. The user retains the option of creating the Event on their native Google Calendar, but that, then, presents the issue of running two Calendars side-by-side, which can be done, but comes at the cost of more mental overhead. I had expected the Calendar integration to tie into my native Google Calendar.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
GO FOR IT! GQueues offers a Free implementation you can use to explore different ways that you might structure the Categories, Queues and Tasks to help you be more effective. There's all the flexibility you might need, but that open-ended nature levies the demand that you determine for yourself what your own most effective structure will look like. There is a GTD video demonstrating a way of using GQueues to implement David Allen's Getting Things Done architecture, but GTD implementations vary by user, so GQueues will likewise be tailored for every user; there aren't any "templates" with pre-structured Categories, Queues, Smart Queues, and Tags that enable a "turn key" setup.
ALSO, BEAR IN MIND: if you employ GQueues in a disorganized fashion, you will still be disorganized and ineffective. If your existing workflow doesn't flow today, GQueues won't magically transform your bad workflow into a streamlined model of efficiency tomorrow. Gqueues isn't your Fairy Godmother; success -- or not -- is in the way that you use it.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
GQueues lends itself readily to capturing every thought in real time. All those moments where the mind says "I really ought to do..." or "Oh, I nearly forgot..." -- those are moments to pull up GQueues and capture the "..." in the GQueues Inbox as a Task, so "..." ISN'T forgotten, so when there is time "to do..." it actually gets done.
What do you like best?
GQueues allows me to have all my tasks organized and with me at all times. I've got it installed on my Android phone, my iPad, and I can easily get to it by signing into Chrome on any computer, including my Linux pc's at the house. I also love it's search abilities through both Active and Archived tasks.
What do you dislike?
I jot down a lot of notes in GQueues, and I wish they would add some formatting abilities so that you could at least use bullet points. I'm thinking it must be possible, because the system will create a hyperlink if you type in a web address. If there is formatting, I haven't found it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it, and you'll like it!
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
I take care of all the I/T issues, take care of routing and ordering of trucking permits, manage over 300 pieces of construction equipment, purchase all large equipment, schedule all safety classes for our field jobs, and I maintain the Safety sites that we're signed up with for each of our contractors. GQueues allows me to easily manage all of the varied tasks that come with this job. I've been doing this now for 3+ years, and GQueues helps me stay on top of it all.
What do you like best?
QGueues is SUPER easy to use, and just as easy for client to use! When you are working with outside team members and clients, you don't want to have to train them too. This is the ticket!
What do you dislike?
While it does integrate with your Google Calendar, it would be great to see a pure calendar / gantt interface.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
While it's not "required", get your team on Google Apps. Not only will it streamline your use of GQueues, the two only compound their effectiveness.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
A simple and fluid project management tool to use with external clients.
