What do you like best?
Features are nice and reporting setups are great
What do you dislike?
HTML coder is needed. Event set-ups are complicated if you want to make any changes to Cvent's template or use your own. Support is segmented and will often send links to content on the site instead of assisting
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
There isn't an HTML coder on staff, which is needed to make changes. I'd seen other reviews on that but was assured by the cvent teams that it wasn't needed. They were wrong.
What do you like best?
nothing, they sold us a bill of goods, couldn't wait to get out of the contract.
What do you dislike?
Before purchasing we went in depth time and again what we needed the application to do for us, and we were shown flashy sites saying that they can do what we need, and we purchased the level they said would do everything. Well 8 months after signing the contract we still are unable to use it, and have had to be upgraded over 10 times from what we were first told would do everything. This has been an amazing waste of time and we are happy to be able to get out of our contract.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
none, none.
What do you like best?
It does the job. It may have been good software even a few years ago but at the moment, it is clearly outdated and legacy software.
What do you dislike?
It isn't mobile-friendly, there is no public API and platform is based on SOAP which is clearly no longer relevant today.
Recommendations to others considering the product
Rather outdated. The few times I contacted support, they were unhelpful and gave me wrong information. I had to find a fix myself.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Our event coordinators can create an event, send invites out and if necessary, collect payment but it is rather difficult to integrate this with out current system architecture. So it does the job, but it is treated as a separate entity and not tied in with our system.
What do you like best?
I'm not sure there is a particular part of Cvent that I "like best".
What do you dislike?
Menus for creating and managing events are not user-friendly. Site designer is clunky and feels like your using software from the early 2000's. Event with the new features, it's not straightforward. Using newer site builders still doesn't provide access to key features like kiosk mode. This has been in limbo for so long. You internal email invite system and lists are confusing and difficult to manage. Our team has substituted using our email marketing software to better manage our lists and create more effective event marketing communications. Reporting is also not straightforward and often difficult to find the actual info you need.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Not a whole lot.
What do you like best?
I like that Cvent event pages can be designed to look appealing.
What do you dislike?
I don't like that the back end of Cvent is not intuitive at all and you need hour-long trainings to do basic things. I also don't like that one page on the back end doesn't always speak to another, so you're made to do double work inputting the same information.

Find something that may be more intuitive.
