PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

Very simple format that people have seen and/or used since the beginning of online stores so they have no trouble making a purchase

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

I have been a customer of cs-cart fro about 11 years. I was very happy with the product for many years but it seemed to come to a crawl with new advancements in the upgrades until I have seen very reason to use it anymore
I bought the 2020 version and was very disappointing to the point that I regretted buying it. Customer service has gone from excellent to poor at best I paid to have them install the new app and ended up with 2 weeks of problems getting them to finish the job and my website was completely down and a loss a sales
It was as if customer support had not ever done a new install..
Another problem is it seems a great many hackers seem to be attracted to cs-cart I get many fake spam attempts a day using the contact link and up to 15 fake customer signups a day even with the capta in place they seem to have a workaround so they can attempt to sign up many times within a minute apart and there is no capta available to even try and slow down the fake contact requests

Very functional Multi vendor marketplace but also very archaic - not at all intuitive. I needed help from an experienced developer at all times so it cost me a lot more to set up my website. My problem now is that the vendors will find this even more difficult to work with. I am actually quite embarrassed to present them with the vendor panel that they have to work with to list their products etc because it looks 20 years old! I know I will find it harder to attract and keep vendors because of this which is a serious problem because without them there is no marketplace. If CS-Cart focus their attention on creating an intuitive admin experience then this platform will be very workable. But if they don't do this quickly then I will probably regret my decision to buy their platform.

- Easy to administration panel compared to what in market specially the part related to views.
- Organized code base with API catalog, neat documentation which makes development easy.
- Rich community of developers and addons.

What are the best aspects of this product?

The best aspect of this product is the skeleton model they provide but other than that if you really want to get into real ecommerce stuff you need way more than add ons for their software

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

The support is the worst. Its actually really really awful.
This is the worst of all. Please dont expect any FREE support from this guys. Even if there is a BUG in their software and you try to point it to them they will charge you. Even if you ask them the location of the file in the ticket they will charge you. Any small issue you are going to ask them, they are going to charge you per ticket no matter if that really dont need any coding or if they have to fix their own issue. They will never let you know where the money is spend on and what ticket. If you guys are buying the software from them, great but please dont ever pay any support to these guys because they wont talk, ever write a word of it unless you dont put money in their account.

What features/services would you like to see in future versions of this product?

Support, Support, Support. Please atleast dont charge to the customers for your own bugs. Please dont charge customers by just answering their questions when they ask the location of their own file

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

We just started using this product but the task is uphill as we brought more add ons than the cost of the cs cart itself so if they claim that this is all you need to make any business successful than its a wrong statement
