The biggest scam I have encountered;Bought a point of sale system from this company. The sale person I talked to says that they are running a limited promotion and so I should put in the purchase now to take advantage of the promotion and just set the shipping date a little far out since my restaurant is not ready. Issue #1: she never told me leasing the system is also an available option.So set the shipping date 6 weeks out from the purchase date. 3 weeks in, we have issues with construction and the project is getting a 3-4 weeks delay. Issue #2: Try to reset the shipping date and push it out, just to find out that they have already shipped the system 1 week earlier than scheduled date. Accepted the system in good faith since the sale rep told me I have 30 days from the ACTIVATION date to fully return the product. As soon as I recieved the packages, the Rep advised me to open the packages to make sure eveything is in there. She did not tell me that by opening the package, the return policy is void and now they are not accepting return eventhough the system has NEVER been activated nor even turned on. Now I am stuck with a set of useless hardware; and I would rather cut my loss short than continue business with a company with questionable business practice.
What do you like best?
I enjoy the sleek design of the system and user-friendly options.
What do you dislike?
It was difficult to set-up, and costly if I wanted the option to have it done for me. The cables are either too long or short and messy under the counter. If I want next-day deposit there is an additional cost--no thanks. I stopped processing payments on this system and used a third-party as it is cheaper and faster. I also think it is absurd that if I would like to use giftcards, there is a costly fee to purchase and maintaine the cards even if they are not being sold. I consider this price gouging as CAKE still receives a percentage of the consumers purchase.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would really consider the size of the restaurant, Needs and Wants, Specific traits that would tailor the system. (I provided input for a year and have not seen it implemented, so it does not heavily fit my restaurant needs). If you are thinking of doing giftcards, there is a high cost to have the "software" let alone the card fee to use the giftcard feature.

Helps ensure speedy sales, and convenience.
What do you like best?
Adding/deleting buttons and getting reports is easy.
What do you dislike?
Discounting! We have to discount item by item instead of group discounting. (Some of our items are non-discount items)

Cake is user friendly and easy to teach staff and maneuver for quick entry for the waitstaff and make it extremely readable for the BOH.
What do you dislike?
Not able to have sub category under the modifiers.

Super secure and my staff and customers are very satisfied.
