What do you like best?
Billsby has three strong points:
1) A simple and clear approach of Products, Plans, and Cycles that can fit almost any subscription need. At hopr (gethopr.com) we have a 2-sided market that serves B2C and B2B customers with our unique Authentication-as-a-Service application: PassHopr. We needed the flexibility to manage both sides or our market with entirely different offerings. Billsby has the flexibility to do that.
2) Billsby's API is added value. There are some data the we want to collect inside our app as part of customer onboarding and the API allows us to do that once and pass the data to Billsby so the customer does not have to enter it again. And it works both ways, we can get data from Billsby (such as a customer ID) to use inside our app
What do you dislike?
Billsby's plan (in the Product, Plan, Cycles setup) configuration does not seem to allow a free subscription plan to a user. They required that a monetary amount is specified and it won't accept $0.00. You can offer customers a free trial, but it doesn't seem possible to setup a free forever subscription plan within Billsby.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
For our PassHopr app (passhopr.com) we designed our own user experience flow for demo, trial, and signup for our customers. But didn't want or developers working outside our core app to develop code for a subscription service that would work with Stripe. Billsby was a great find and solution because it has a great set of subscription features that we could leverage through their API. It is not as well-known as other subscription brands, but the features and cost were very attractive to us
What do you like best?
I like how simple it is to setup billing logic in Billsby
What do you dislike?
The interface isn't really as intuitive sometimes

What do you like best?
Moving from an existing platform with several thousand users, easiness to integrate and support were keys factors in our selection. We appreciate the Billsby team availability to answer our questions, the API documentation, and the product functionalities, allowing us to migrate from our current platform to the new one almost without show stopper or bad surprises. Cost is another plus with a very reasonable price structure. The ability to support multiple payment gateway is also something we appreciate.
What do you dislike?
The product can probably benefit from adding SSO functionalities. Better integration with other API based SAAS for sending mail, managing users identities would be definitely a plus. Finally, the integration with Zapier is good but could be extended to other services.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We are moving from a CMS based subscription plugin to Billby as we were encountering several limitations with the previous product used. Using a Saas service allowed us to focus on our core business (an aviation library) and to have access to a lot more functionalities already available allowing us to extend our current offer.
What do you like best?
The cost is probably the standout part of Billsby. Don't get me wrong the features are there to build strong levels of automation but it is priced much cheaper than competition.
What do you dislike?
Some parts of the dashboard aren't as complete as other more nature products. This can be worked around via the fully featured API and Billsby seem to be adding more and more into the dashboard but we would really like to manually create subscriptions for users with no card details.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We have managed to get a proof of concept automation piece together with our SaaS product and it has been easy to get to grips with products and add-ons.
What do you like best?
- The ability to get started to going live so quickly. Easy to put out.
What do you dislike?
Design/UI is not as customizable as I'd like.
