What do you like best?
Alteryx is one single platform but supports multiple functionality right from Inputtng data from multiple sources with carrying out complex analytics until outputting data in multiple formats. All of this doesnt needed to be coded.
What do you dislike?
Alteryx licenses are costly. Small organizations would prefer to use excel for these purposes.

Yes, Definitely makes work simple.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
I majorly work on Alteryx to work with anything related to data. Mostly use Preparation, Blending and Outputting data for different purposes.Also provide training and consultancy services.
What do you like best?
The feeling when my organization dumps them.
What do you dislike?
The rag-tag nature of the company depending on end-users to create a "community" in which they "foster solutions" AKA they dont want to invest in actual documentation / error resolution, and just rely on us end-users to try and fix each others problems.
They sell you their "tech", which has about 999 things in it that you will *never* use, and in their only to inflate the price, and then ... well then your on your own chief!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the money and go to the nearest casino and put it on Red at a roullette table. This is statiscally a better investment than Alteryx.

Moving data from one database to another. We are supposed to realize labor savings, but, and I'm laughing, that hasnt been the case.
What do you like best?
There are many opportunities to easily set up a smart model for calculations of probabilities. It's like drag and drop with changing some settings.
What do you dislike?
It's hard to handle, something confusing labeling and results can vary between the updates. No downgrading if you use some specific tools inside Alteryx.

Be aware that your results may differ if you upgrade to a newer version. This can be very confusing and is a disadvantage.

Alteryx has been used to calculate prices and do AB-tests for a new menu as well as the location of a new store.

Communication with our Sales Rep is very scarce. Not focused on keeping vendor/client relationship strong.
Recommendations to others considering the product
Alteryx is an extremely useful tool that has capabilities and power like no other tool we've seen. Once you've used this tool you can't imagine going back to any manual or time intense process. Unfortunately, Alteryx knows this. So be prepared to see a significant price increase from 1 contract to the next. We signed our 1st contract for 3 yrs. and saw a 30% hike on the 1st yr. of the 2nd contract.

What do you like best?
Alteryx is a great data blending and data prep tool. It allows you to take data from different forms and very easily combine them into something that you can work with. This is all done through a workflow process with drag and drop tools. This makes it easy for the less technical people to transform their data without a steep learning curve. I also really like that there is a tool that turns all of the data blending that you have done into a tableau file that can be automatically imported into tableau and used there.
What do you dislike?
While touted as having great analytic capabilities, I found that Alteryx did not stand up to competitors like Tableau. The analytics capabilities that Alterx does have are a bit clunky and do not present a final product in a great way.
It is definitely more of a data prep/blend tool than an analytics tool, which I thought was not represented in the best way in its advertising.
Recommendations to others considering the product
Great data prep and blending tool, however it is not ideal to be used for analytic purposes. Although it integrates fantastically with Tableau.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
I have the need to access data that is in many different forms. From excel files to csv files, I have been having to manually add data to a master database file, all of this is very labor intensive. With Alteryx I can decide what data entries I need as well as delete duplicates, replace words and add columns, all automatically.
This tool saves me a lot of time, was easy to learn and reduces the redundancy of the work I do.
