What are the best aspects of this product?

It allows you to design, edit and control the documents when you are creating the layout. You can decide how you want the layout to be on the InDesign interface. This form of control and flexibility is key to creating tailored texts for your project. It is possible to create a style or a template that is custom to your project. Also, that style can be repeated for future projects or current activities and thus saves the time and effort when undertaking a project. InDesign equips you with the right tools and features to edit large texts while you add characters, shapes and style them into paragraphs.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

It has great features and tools that equip the user with the ability to format texts regardless of the size. However, those features can be a bit overwhelming for new users. It adds a learning curve to it as the features are too many for new users to take in. It requires that you take a lot of time to learn the basics and complexities of the product before you can fully explore what it has to offer. The working documents do not reflect the final documents, which brings about confusion. Also, when it comes to the pricing of this tool, you can only subscribe to it instead of buying it. I did not like that part of it as I would have wanted to buy instead of subscriptions.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

I am able to create or design the layout of documents the way they were intended. All this is done within a short period and in a simple manner. This would not have been the case if we did not have InDesign to help us pull this off. If the design is too complex for the taking, you do not have to worry about as InDesign is featured with the right tools to handle such complexities in a document. This makes our work easier as we do not have to worry about the needs of the document in terms of the design or editing it requires.

What are the best aspects of this product?

InDesign is usually a software that most designers like to avoid because it has a steep learning curve. However, InDesign has been a boon to my job because doing layouts on it with lots of texts and images is easier. This is especially advantageous when clients have requests that seem difficult to do, such as adding small text to a small space. Just a little adjustment on a box is all I need to do on InDesign, whereas on Photoshop I need to go through a lot of editing.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

I avoided using InDesign for some time because I felt that it lacked the tools I needed. But that is only because I was looking for features that it is not supposed to have because it is geared mostly towards jobs that entails layout tasks. That is why I have learned to make workarounds.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

InDesign streamlines my editing job, which includes a lot of text and images. Because of it, I have a better time dealing with demanding bosses and clients who require thousands of changes. With it, doing the layout for their change requests is a smooth task.

What are the best aspects of this product?

It has a clean interface that allows the user to remain focused and to keep things organized. It has every tool that a layout designer like me can ask for. As a result, I can work on a wide range of projects such as eBooks, PDFs, magazines, electronic magazines, and other digital paraphernalia. Best of all, I can make those things interactive because of the software's support for multimedia content. Plus, it allows me to work together with my colleagues, especially the content writers.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

InDesign requires a lot of time and patience to master. After you have gone through the initial pain points, it becomes easier to use. This makes the application a niche one that needs a specialist to use. This means that we cannot just pass on the files or projects to other people who don't know a thing about it. It also lacks simple image manipulation features such as greyscaling an image. Because most of the time, I have to launch Photoshop to make basic edits. It would be nice if I no longer have to leave InDesign for that.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Our company is big on aesthetics and InDesign helps us achieve our aesthetic goals. With it, we can publish digital projects and transform them into print products as well. Whichever the case, it renders layouts and typography beautifully. As such, it is a program that I cannot live without for my layout needs.

What are the best aspects of this product?

InDesign has been very helpful to me in producing pamphlets and other marketing paraphernalia for the organization I handle.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

We usually need only quick edits for our files but using InDesign, the process is not so streamlined. We wish some things were simpler so that we don't waste time making modifications.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

With InDesign, we no longer have to find other people to work on our marketing materials. Instead, our small team can complete a wide array of projects without spending on outside help.
