What do you like best?
It is simple to setup and to get the backups started but I can't restore, even after 16 hrs of support remote into my network.
What do you dislike?
Support is horrible. They are in Mumbai and the techs are all in one room, the background noise is unbearable. Their accents are terrible. They had to remote into my system because I could not understand their directions. We have currently spent 16 hrs on remote sessions with support and they cannot get a restore to run over the network or directly connected to usb.
Recommendations to others considering the product
Do not buy this product unless you will only be restoring to an identical computer and don't expect this to work with new computers.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
No problems solved, this was supposed to save us from having to install 30 apps on each new computer, we had planned to just restore from the users old computer to the new. It does not work and has cost the customer a fortune in my consulting time.
What do you like best?
Everything I used to like about them (functionality, efficacy no longer applies. I have been using Acronis products for over 12 years. I would not say that their support was always stellar but since you almost never needed to use it (because their products simply worked that was never an issue.
What do you dislike?
Support, simply awful support for a product that no longer works as advertised (i.e. Universal Restores are problematic, restores in general now are problematic with 12 and 12.5 .
I have had three support issues within the last 6 months 2 of them were simply left unresolved. For one the support person left the line promising his course of action would work when in fact it did not.
For the second it has been ongoing for around 4 weeks. It was finally escalated to a 'specialist' only to have the specialist ask me to do things that if he had bothered to read the notes (if proper notes were taken he would not have suggested.

have your technicians take ownership of a case and see it through to resolution. Get better technicians.

Disaster Recovery/Backup
at this point I see few benefits there are a lot of other more inexpensive solutions that seem to work better.
What do you like best?
The product is not reliable as it crashes when you need it most.
Tech Support is from India and is technically challenged.
What do you dislike?
THE INSTABILITY OF THE PRODUCT AND TECH SUPPORT.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. THE ROI IS 0.

NO BENEFIT - ACRONIS BACKUP FOR PC AND VIRTUAL MACHINES / HOST SOFTWARE AS WELL AS THE CLOUD BACKUP IS A RESOURCE HUNGRY SOFTWARE THAT IS UNSTABLE IN ANY ENVIRONMENT.
What do you like best?
When it works, it was great. The software has a lot of features.
What do you dislike?
Support horrible. This product is for mission critical items. So when it does not work, its not just a "oh darn that stinks". Rather it can put your business out of business! So with that being the case, their support cannot take days and weeks to respond. Their initial chat is a front, because their answer always is "this has to be escalated". Just a horrible support team, which makes the product horrible.

Try it for a few weeks. If ANY issues occur, then realize its not right for you. If you have mission critical data your backing up or you will really need the data, then be cautions. The product looks awesome, but the actual use is disappointing.

Backup and rapid recovery for mission critical items.
What do you like best?
Well, The features on-paper are nice. Can backup files to user-specified location or cloud, and has the ability to do scheduled backups of varying types. Good backup configuration, and mounting backups is great!
What do you dislike?
Here's where the bad part comes in. IT IS NOT RELIABLE AT ALL. I've used Acronis True Image Home since the 2012 version and finally after years of wrestling with it, I've given up after the 2016 version. I can't comment on how the 2019 version goes, but just know that if you choose Acronis for your backup solution, the software they build is buggy, the windows drivers are buggy, it is slow to open backups, it often requires ridiculous online DRM activation, and their market strategy is to force you to upgrade in order to fix problems that should of already been fixed in the version they sold to you. Acronis support when contacted about these problems has tried upsell me into the latest version. Whats worse is that it seems to be getting WORSE OVER TIME, the 2012 version had some bugs but it was at least moderately usable but now with the 2016+ versions they are pushing CLOUD and may be moving to a subscription based model where you can't even get anything done without contacting their servers first. The TIB driver for windows is slow, unreliable, sometimes even showing SOME but not ALL of the files folders in a given location, making it unstable to the point of being faulty.
I cannot warn you more about this solution, and company. STAY AWAY, there is a FREE OPEN-SOURCE solution called clonezilla that is much more reliable and works without windows or DRM issues getting in the way. The images it creates are even convertible to VHD format for mounting!
I'm serious when I say this, I've been a customer of theirs for years and have at-least 4 keys for their products purchased. THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE.

Stay away, there are better free solutions that won't just leave you hanging on the next version upgrade.
